The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Yobe office has organised a one-day capacity building workshop on Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) for the staff and management of Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA).
The programme was part of efforts to build the capacity of the staff of Yobe State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (YSCHMA) for efficient and effective management of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund Programme.
The training took place at the Conference Hall of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) attended by the Executive Secretary of YSCHMA, Dr Babagana Tijjani among other officials.
Earlier delivering his welcome address, the State Coordinator of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Yobe, Abubakar Dabo said that Yobe State is among the beneficiaries of the laudable programme of NHIS in Nigeria.
According to him, the objective of the workshop is to bring all stakeholders closer especially in the area of scheme implementation and fund utilization. “The process of utilizing funds must be duly observed according to operational guidelines developed jointly by the stakeholders”.
In his opening remark, the Executive Secretary of Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA), Dr Babagana Tijjani thanked NHIS for organizing the event for YSCHMA and NHIS staff.
Adding that the workshop is timely and would serve as a refresher training for YSCHMA staff and a revision of the earlier workshop organized by YSCHMA on Basic Health Care Provision Fund held in Kano some months ago and that the workshop will energise and boost the capacity of YSCHMA staff and management team in carrying out the programme efficiently and effectively in order to achieve the needed result.
The Executive Secretary further said as at 25th August 2021, YSCHMA has enrolled and paid capitation for 22034 BHCPF beneficiaries.
