Police Operatives Kill POS Armed Robber, Others At Large

Police operatives on Friday shot dead an alleged armed robber when they interrupted the robbery of a POS agent along Osubi-Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State.

It was learned that the Police Division Warri, while on routine patrol along Okere market junction Warri, intercepted a four-man armed robbery gang operating with a minibus with registration number Delta DSZ 912 XA.

It was learnt that the police patrol team chased the hoodlums to Makaiva market during a gun duel after which they got trapped in the market crowd.

It was gathered that the hoodlums alighted from the vehicle and ran into the crowd but one of the suspects was arrested with gunshot injuries he sustained during the gun duel.

It was learnt that the apprehended suspect simply identified as Christopher confessed to being a member of the armed robbery gang that robbed a POS lady at Osubi-Orerokpe earlier in the day.

It was revealed that the suspect was taken to General Hospital, Warri where he died while receiving treatment.

It was revealed that one expended cartridge, two POS machines, two female bags containing two Zenith bank ATM cards, one driver’s license bearing Ogagbe Godspower, one power bank, and a bible were recovered from the vehicle of the hoodlums.

In a related development, a serial car snatcher identified as Richard Tobi has been nabbed in the Warri axis of the state.

It was gathered that the suspect who terrorizes Warri axis was trailed to Mammy market, Effurun in Uvwie LGA where he was arrested.

It was learnt that different vehicle plate numbers were recovered from him while one Toyota Hilux with Registration Number UYY 210 GT suspected to have been stolen at Akwa-Ibom was recovered from his residence.
