Delta 2023: Edevbie Sheath Your Sword, Back Oborevwori–Union Tells Ex-SSG

The leadership of Uhurie United Union (UUU) of the Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State has advised Chief David Edevbie to sheath the sword and dismantle his political war chest by respecting the opinion of the party as decided at the primaries which produced Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, Speaker of the State Assembly as the flag bearer for the Delta 2023 gubernatorial election.

The Uhurie emissary group acknowledged that Chief Edevbie has put up a gallant fight in the spirit and letters of the democratic ethos and views of Deltans in the selection of the state leadership,  particularly as it concerns the PDP as a party which is good for our nascent and fledgling democracy.

However, the Uhurie United Union Exco strongly observed that they believe that the protracted struggle of who becomes the PDP flag bearer in 2023 should be put to rest, noting that it is time for Chief Edevbie to respect the party’s supremacy which has already given the mandate of the people through the primaries to Hon. Oborevwori in their representative capacity as delegates approved by the party to carry out the selection process.

Hon. Francis Vevakpor, the National Coordinator of Uhurie United Union who spoke to newsmen over the thorny issue explained that Hon. Oborevwori is an illustrious son of Uhurie and in that regard, the Group is proud to identify with him and congratulate him for his well-deserved victory at the appellate court which restored the mandate of the people given to him.

Chief Vevakpor, the Uhurie United boss made a compassionate appeal as he called on all party faithful and relevant stakeholders at all tiers of government to mobilize enmass the Youths, women and the entire voting population in Delta political space to support Hon. Oborevwori for the upcoming gubernatorial election so that he can take over the saddle of leadership in Dennis Osadebey House come 2023 to continue on the agenda of expecting more.
