- Challenges Pan Igbo Group To Endorse Peter Obi Like Afenifere, Others
A humanitarian activist, social entrepreneur and frontline advocate for the actualisation of a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in 2023, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, has challenged Ohaneze-Ndigbo to publicly endorse the presidential candidate of the Labour Party Mr. Peter Obi if the Igbo cultural organisation is really supporting his presidential ambition.
Iyere who stated that the likes of Afenifere, PANDEF, Middle-Belt and some other socio-cultural cum ethnic groups have openly endorsed as well as declared their unalloyed support and actualisation of the presidential ambition of Mr. Peter Obi, observed that only Ohaneze-Ndigbo has not come out openly to endorse their own brother (Peter Obi) because of their secret allegiance to the PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the governor of Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodimma.
Iyere who had an elaborate press conference with select journalists in Enugu concerning an alleged clandestine move by the Obiozor-led leadership of the Ohaneze-Ndigbo Worldwide to scuttle the actualisation of the Igbo Presidency in 2023, maintained that Ohaneze-Ndigbo is currently finding it pretty difficult to declare publicly that it is solidly behind Peter Obi because the organisation is currently on the payrolls of Atiku Abubarkar and Hope Uzodimma respectively; adding that he has evidence to back his claims.
The renowned humanitarian activist was flabbergasted that the body language of Ohaneze-Ndigbo portrayed the proverbial Judas because the organisation according to him, pretends to stand with Peter Obi when in the real sense, is working so maliciously to frustrate the actualisation of the Igbo Presidency through Peter Obi because the leadership of the organization allegedly collects monetary gratifications from the Imo state governor Hope Uzodimma; whom he said was one of the biggest financiers of Ohaneze-Ndigbo and foot soldier of the APC presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said, “Everybody knows that the biggest and the best thing that can ever happen to Nigeria next year is Peter Obi. ” Iyere, therefore, mentioned that the likes of Okwesilieze Nwodo and Nnia Nwodo were serious threats to the actualisation of an Igbo president next year.
He explained that the appointment of Okwesilieze Nwodo as Deputy Director of Atiku’s Campaign Organisation was huge sabotage of the Igbo presidency.
He said he didn’t grant the press conference to create confusion nor to malign anyone but to reiterate the fact that it is the turn of the Igbo nation in Nigeria to produce the next president as he believes very strongly that the wind of change is already blowing Peter Obi towards the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
Iyere stressed that for the very first time, Nigeria will have someone who they can trust with their money, end corruption, end power failure, create jobs for young Nigerians, establish functional hospitals, and well-constructed roads, enthrone quality education as well as restore hope and confidence in government. All these and more, the activist believes Peter Obi can achieve if he becomes president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria next year.
