*Legislative Mace Taken Away
The Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Monday, was attacked by rioters who invaded the street of the town following scarcity of the redesigned Naira notes created by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The riot which started, in the early hours of Monday by aggrieved youth who had invaded the Akarigbo road to transact business at the banks.
As at the time of filling this report, parts of Union and Keystone banks at the Akarigbo Street we’re set on fire.
The rioters thereafter proceeded to the local government secretariat where offices and other properties were destroyed.
Theleadnews further learnt that the mace belonging to the legislative arm of the local government were carted away by the rioters.
