Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has commended the Flying Eagles’ passage to the semi-final at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Peseiro also felicitated the team for securing a place at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Flying Eagles achieved both feats after beating the Hippos of Uganda 1-0. In their quarter-final clash at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia on Thursday night.

The Flying Eagles achieved both feats after beating the Hippos of Uganda 1-0. in their quarter-final clash at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia on Thursday night.
Ibrahim Juma scored an own goal on the half-hour mark to ensure victory for Ladan Bosso’s side.
“Congratulations to our Flying Eagles, who have guaranteed a spot in U20 World Cup in May, as well as being through to the semi-finals of the U20 AFCON,” Peseiro wrote in his Twitter handle.
The Flying Eagles will face the winner of the quarter-final tie between Gambia and South Sudan in the semi-final on Monday.
