A Communication expert and teacher, Mr. Chido Nwakanma, has criticised the Labour Party and its# candidate in the March 11, 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State, Dr. Ale##x Otti, for disregarding and disrespecting equity in the state.

Nwakanma, in a terse statement made available to the media on Friday, said “equity is a critical barometer in local and national politics.
“Though riding on the Peter Obi wave, the Labour Party in Abia State has inequity in its DNA. Key officers of LP come from only one side of the state.”
He wondered why a party will have the gubernatorial candidate from Arochukwu and his deputy from Ohafia- the same geopolitical zone, while the State Chairman of the party is from the old Bende.
What this means is that “across the key officers, LP’s EXCO and guber team come from only one senatorial zone of Abia State. Such inequitable distribution should grieve all who see LP as a new direction.
“Peter Obi is not like this. Abia LP is a different Labour Party. It grieves me. I stand against injustice and lack of representation.
“We cannot allow LP to take away the rights of Ukwa La Ngwa, to ignore nine local governments because some people misbehaved. The outgoing PDP government did badly. Should we continue in that direction?
“The morning tells the day. If LP is so contemptuous of Ukwa La Ngwa while begging for votes, what will they do in power?
“Think about it. I repeat, they are canvassing votes but ##already counted Ukwa La Ngwa out. What will they do to Ukwa la Ngwa if they access power? Think deeply,” Nwakanma emphasised.
