Mabel Oboh Receives AJ Entertainers To Late Mighty Mouse’s Family
On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, the family of the late John Oboh, popularly known as Mighty Mouse and the creator of the AJ music genre was honored with a condolence visit by renowned Ajegunle musicians led by Baba Fryo.
Recall that Ajegunle City’s Musical Pioneer, Mighty Mouse, who died of cancer on September 18, 2023, is credited with developing the AJ music genre, which is now played in several dimensions.
Mighty Mouse’s two sisters, Mabel Oboh and Josephine Oboh-Macleod, as well as his three children, Beracca, Judah, and Akhere Oboh, were on the ground to greet the amazing performances.
Mabel Oboh, a former governorship candidate for Edo 2020 on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), addressed on behalf of the family and praised the artists for paying honor to their teacher, Mighty Mouse.
Mabel Oboh, the ADC party’s National Publicity Secretary, took the opportunity to thank Baba Fryo and the other AJ artists for the noble wake they held for their late brother, John Oboh before he was buried.
She also expressed the family’s gratitude to the musicians for the cash donation they provided to the children, noting that Ajegunle musicians, friends, and Mohammed Shuaibu’s extraordinarily nice gesture helped to boost fundraising for the children in no small way.
According to Mabel, our brother’s passing affected not just the family but also the entertainment business as a whole.
“We are all grieved by my brother’s passing, but I have faith that God will eventually heal us all. My promise to AJ musicians is that I will keep helping the genre flourish both in Nigeria and internationally.
“My late brother, John Oboh, who created the AJ music genre, had always been passionate not only about the growth of AJ music, but about the Ajegunle people as well,” she said.
In her remarks, Josephine Oboh-Macleod, the late John Oboh’s eldest sibling, thanked the Ajegunle musicians for staying with the family after their mentor John Oboh died.
Oboh-Macleod, a politician, cultural champion, and artist from the United Kingdom who traveled from Scotland for the occasion, expressed his appreciation for their participation in John Oboh’s funeral.
Baba Fryo, who spoke on behalf of the musicians, stated that everyone in Nigeria’s music industry will miss Mighty Mouse and that his death has left a gap.
The ceremony was attended by John Dada, Sir Bog, Long John, Marvelous Benji, Lady Jairo, Daddy Hyde, Barrister Charles, and other Ajegunle pals of Mighty Mouse.

Recall that in May 2011, the now famous Davido, from the Adeleke family in Osun State, released his first single titled; ‘Back When’. The song became an instant hit and was well-received by music lovers all around Africa.
Davido followed up with another hit single, ‘DamiDuro’ in October 2011. Since then, it has been back-to-back hits from the very talented singer. Some of his other hit singles include ‘Aye,’ ‘Skelewu,’: Overseas,’ and ‘Gobe‘.
The latest work of the music icon, ‘Timeless’ did not only redefine African music, it showed the dexterity of Davido such that he is now accepted as a global artiste with so much to offer the world in the area of music.
‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ will conclude with its upcoming fifth season at CBS. The fifth season of the multi-cam comedy is due
to premiere on Feb. 12, with the series finale now set for May 13.
The ending of ‘Bob Hearts Abishola marks the potential end of an era at CBS. With the show ending, coupled with the previously announced ending of ‘Young Sheldon’, Chuck Lorre does not currently have any shows slated to be on the CBS schedule going into next fall.
Unless the network picks up a new show from Lorre and his team between now and then, it will be the first time Lorre has not had at least one show on CBS since 2003.
Lorre’s run at CBS has been nothing short of historic. In the past 20 years, he has co-created and executive produced shows for the network including long-running hits like ‘The Big
Bang Theory,’ ‘Two and a Half Men’, ‘Mom’, and ‘Young Sheldon’. He is currently prepping the series ‘Bookie’ for Max.

Network,” said Amy Reichenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.
‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ is described as a love story about Bob (Billy Gardell), a middle-aged compression sock businessman from Detroit, who unexpectedly fell for his cardiac nurse, Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku), a Nigerian immigrant, while recovering from a heart attack.
“‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ is about an unlikely love story, but also the premise that immigrants make America great,” said executive producers Gina Yashere, Matt Ross, and Lorre. “We’ve loved bringing these stories to life and are excited for fans to see the final chapter of these two families and the incredible work of this talented cast and crew.”
Lorre, Al Higgins, Yashere, and Ross serve as executive producers. ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Lorre is under an overall deal.
The ending of the show is not altogether unexpected. It was previously reported that going into the fifth season, only Gardell and Olowofoyeku would retain their series regular status.
All the other series regulars were reduced to recurring roles in an effort to cut the show’s budget.

The UK-based Nigerian DJ and music producer has achieved significant milestones in the music industry. DJ 2Phat, who hails from Abuja, Nigeria, says that he has been cultivating a passion for DJing since the age of 9, and has dedicated years to perfecting his craft.
“Even though I have toured and performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, Nigeria will always be home to me. And there is no better management team to lead my career progression than Luminary Vision Record. Together, we will be starting 2024 with a bang. I don’t want to reveal much, but just anticipate new releases from me,” the DJ said.
