Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared that the populace should expect rapid growth and development in the State after the legal battles that ensued after his election.
In a state-wide broadcast on Friday, he expressed his excitement and gratitude to the Almighty God for the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his electoral victory.
The court’s decision confirmed his mandate, which he had received from the Rivers voters.
“After our State’s difficult legal journey that followed the governorship election,” he said emphatically, “I speak to you with immense joy and total reverence to the Almighty God.”
“It is with great nostalgia that I reflect on your trust and the absolute confidence you bestowed on us on that fateful March 18, 2023 when you gave us your mandate. Even with that overwhelming support, we had to go through litigation to validate your choice and confirmation of your mandate to us.
“We are deeply elated by the verdict of the Supreme Court of our dear nation, which has finally affirmed our victory. I owe this victory, not to my efforts or our ingenuity but to God and to you the good people of Rivers State.”
Sir Fubara revealed that the Supreme Court’s decision had strengthened his resolve to guarantee that every Rivers person, regardless of political inclination or ethnic background, benefits from democracy.
“In this regard, what is important to us is the accelerated growth and development of our dear State.
“Now that the litigations are over, we call on the opposition political parties in the State to join hands with our government to build the Rivers State of our dreams.
“I extend the olive branch to my contenders and all others who went through the hog and or who withdrew their cases for the love of the State.
Notwithstanding the difficulties he had recently encountered, Governor Fubara promised that his administration will keep pursuing peace and see to it that the oppressed are lifted out of poverty.
In addition, he committed to fostering the development of human capital, social investment engineering, infrastructure, and long-term socioeconomic growth across all spheres of endeavour.

Ignore The Rumour, Obi Not Quitting Labour Party, Berates Mischief Makers
The Peter Obi Media Reach, POMR wishes to outrightly dismiss trending fake and fallacious news story suggesting that he was parting ways with the Labour Party.
This is not true and it did not originate from Obi or the Obedient Movement but from mischief makers bent on sowing the seed of discord in the party.
In a statement from his Media Aide, Michael Jude Nwolisa, these rising misdemeanours on the party did not start today as they set out to destroy and disorganize the party all to get at Obi and derail the inevitable journey of rescuing Nigeria.
Presently our principal is preoccupied with making Nigeria work not on partisan politics which ended on October 26, 2023, when the Supreme Court of the land took their final decision on the general elections.
Those bent on creating a crisis in the Labour Party are enemies of democracy wishing for the failed status quo to remain.
OBI’s focus at the moment is on creating an environment where democracy is to be practised according to the defined tenets not the rascality and all forms of impunity prevalent in the country today
Peter Obi therefore would like to assure Nigerians, particularly the Obidient family that his way with Labour is unshaken and intact and that the struggle to rescue Nigeria from the criminal gangs holding it down will not stop until it’s achieved through the will of the Nigerian people.
