Foundation Tasks Nigerians On Charity, Donates Food Items To Orphanage

A non-governmental organisation, Marcel Ofomata Foundation has donated food items and toiletries to Carelez Care Home, Garki, Abuja as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility  (CSR).

The group also called on well-meaning Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of charity and also help in capacity building for the needy and vulnerable
group to reduce poverty in the country.

The Chairman of AMAECOM Group Dr. Amaechi Marcel Ofomata while making the donation on Thursday explained that the visit was part of the decision of the organization to give back to society.

Some of the items donated include rice, bottled water, indomie noodles, detergents, beverages, hand sanitizer and others.

He said, “Over the years we always acknowledged our communities as the backbone for our business success and we feel it always good to pay back to the community.

“We have a way of saying God we thank you. So this is to say community thank you and thanking the community, you look at where they need most and over the years we have been doing it.

“Every year we treat over five thousand people, free medical and surgery. So we visited here, this is the pioneer’s own and we are going to continue.

“Our target is that we are going to ensure that we visit them three times a year. That is the policy.

We feel good as we do it and we feel good as we inspire other young men and the companies.”

The group also called on well-meaning Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of charity and also help in capacity building to reduce poverty.

“So we are calling on other Nigerians to also join hands because when you do good you feel happy.

“I feel that capacity building is the best thing that you can do to a person. I have attended capacity building at least for forty countries all over the world and I know the importance of the capacity building.

“The government is not doing it for us but we need to do it ourselves,” He added.
The administrator of Carelez Care Home, Mrs. Rhoda Ajayi said that whatever they received they also share it with other orphanage homes because Carelez Care Home is like a central home.  “We really appreciate Marce Ofomata Foundation for the donation and we pray that the foundation will continue to grow higher and higher,” she said.
